Most people would agree that they love to travel but they normally have a list of dream destinations. For me it is everywhere I can fit in the time I have been given. The reason for this is to raise mental health awareness around the world. I have had my personal struggles and still do. This mission has given me a purpose and something I would like to grow.
I would love to establish a global non-profit organization that will provide mental health services globally. It is a huge dream that will consist of thousands of people to make it happen. Lately I have been asking myself the question “how can we even talk about mental health, when there are people facing daily struggles in regards to putting a meal on the table, or living in the midst of war.” But speaking to locals and asking them direct how common suicide is and why the answers I get has reinforced how important it is to have mental health facilities available right around the world and not just for those who can afford it. Mental health should not be a taboo subject. It needs to be something we are comfortable to share. No-one should be told they just need to get over it. They need to be equipped with the skills in order to overcome it and the desire to want to live a meaningful life.
How can you help:
Right now if you are a traveler or even just share the same passion that I do, talk to people ask them about this very important topic. Share some of my stories. Contact me for information. I am currently as I am traveling collecting data in order to learn about this very important issue. If you are a qualified psychologist/psychiatrist or even aPh.D.HD student wanting to write a paper on this – get in contact with me and I will provide the data I collect as I go for you to write about this to raise further awareness where it matters. This is not just a project I want to keep to myself. It is something I would like to share with the world and have others on-board with me. I am just one person but any successful global movement had the support of others. At this stage I am not ready yet to receive monetary donations but please follow my journey and share it.
