I am an Australian girl born in South Africa currently making my way around the world visiting every sovereign nation. I am the eldest of three girls and come from a “normal” middle class family. At the age of 19, I joined the Royal Australian Navy and served for more than 8 years until I was medically discharged.
One of the big reasons I joined the Navy was because of my desire to travel as well as having a career that would be rewarding. I didn’t get to travel as much as I initially dreamt I would and now I finally feel that the world is my oyster. I have left the career life for one on the road. The military lifestyle has been a massive part of my identity and I am currently on a mission to enjoy my solitude and find out who I really am.
One thing out of personal experience and my environment I have observed and experienced how often we keep our mental health hidden in a closet. I was personally guilty of not completely comprehending a healthy mental attitude and how scared we can be to speak up when we are experiencing any form of mental illness.
This is something very close to my heart and I hope that through my travels I will raise mental health awareness all around the world. I have some big dreams when it comes to this issue and I am excited for what is around the next corner.
On this page you will find personal blogs about my own life struggles, experiences in countries, in-depth blogs about Australia and South Africa having lived in both amazing countries.
I look forward to sharing my journey around the world with you so feel free to subscribe in order to receive updates on any new posts.
